Lucy Marie Schreiner
March 11th, 1946 - August 29th, 2024
Lucy Schreiner departed her physical life on August 29, 2024, at home in Puyallup, Washington. Born March 11, 1946, in Hays, Kansas to the late Clem and Annie Ziegler, Lucy was one of seven children. After Lucy graduated from Collyer High School, she attended Holy Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. On September 17, 1966, Lucy was united in marriage to Rich Schreiner in Collyer, Kansas. Following their marriage, Lucy and Rich moved to Ogallah, Kansas, where they worked and devoted their time to their six children. In 1993, Lucy and Rich decided to relocate the family to the Pacific NW.
Lucy was known for her generosity, kindness, and having fun. Lucy was passionate about helping others. Lucy loved baking, cooking traditional German dishes, playing games, doing crafts, and staying up late engaging in conversations and laughter. Lucy loved to travel, especially when it included opportunities to visit and spend time with family. Lucy was an early childhood educator and spent time inspiring young children to be kind and generous to others. Lucy was devoted to spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents: Clem and Annie Ziegler; her brothers: Mark and Tim Ziegler; and her husband, Rich Schreiner. Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Anita Thomas; Paulette Ziegler; Milissa Metcalf and Pat Ziegler and her children: Sherri (Toby) Dinkins; Sheila Peacock; Donovan (Russell) Schreiner; Danielle (Rex) Powell; Dominic Schreiner (Kayla); Gabrielle (Joey) Bellarin; grandchildren: Zachary Dinkins; Carson Dinkins; Stuart Dinkins; Samuel Peacock; Sebastian Peacock; Le’liana Campbell-Schreiner; Zander Campbell-Schreiner; Isaac (Brittany) Vargo; Elliott (Gracie) Vargo; Emma (Brett) Edmunds ; Olivia Schreiner; Gabriel Holguin; Brianna Holguin; Eli Bellarin; Callie Bellarin; great grandchild; Oliver Edmunds and hosts of sorrowful friends and family.
