Lyda B.Esgate passed away at the age of 96 on November 15th, 2013 in Springfield, Oregon. She was born in Cochella Valley, California on March 31th, 1917. She and her family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1926. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1935, and was married in 1939. Her husband Vernard preceded her in death in April, 1991, as did her Father Isaac Thomas, her Mother Lizzie, her brothers James and Warren, and her sister Dorothy Bailey. She is survived by her children Verne (Lynda) Esgate, Pat (Lee) Trueman, Larry (Misuk) Esgate, and Susan (Keith) Skalbeck, grandchildren Thomas (Debbi) and Timothy Trueman, Tamela (David) Galaviz, Karen (Bill) Bruton, Kaira Esgate, Ashley Esgate, Nicholas Parks and great-grandchildren; Eric and Ryan Trueman, Lilly, Gabriel, and Sofie Galaviz, and Sadie Parks. Services will be held Wednesday, November 20th, 2:00 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 7305 Main St., Springfield in the main Chapel.
