Lydia C. Adams

Lydia C. Adams, 78, of Greeley died Tuesday, December 5, 1962 at Weld County Nursing Home. She was born July 9, 1884 at Masonville, IA to Charles Edgar and Emily D. (Havens) Ward. She was married to George B. Adams March 14, 1911 at Greeley and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 14, 1952. Mr. Adams died on April 1, 1962. They farmed west of Greeley for 16 years and moved to their present home address in 1927. Mrs. Adams was a member of the First Christian Church since 1907; Superintendent of the Cradle Roll 21 years; chosen representative Mother of the year at the Church in 1952; and was a member of the W.C.T.U. for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Earl E. (Mildred) Ely of Greeley; two grandchildren, Mrs. Douglas (Sandra) Howard of Eaton and Sharon of Greeley; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Mae) Kellogg of Greeley and Mrs. Walter (Maude) Davis of Lyman, NE; a nephew, Lester Adams of La Salle, CO; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. J.L. Adams of Greeley. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 1962 at Adamsom Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery.
