Lydia Grace Christian

May 4th, 1937 - August 15th, 2024

Lydia Grace Christian passed away on August 15, 2024, in Eugene at the age of 87.  Lydia was born in Bessemer, Pennsylvania on May 4, 1937, to Warner and Mildred Anderson.  She was raised in Walterville, Oregon, with her older brother, Bob Anderson.

Growing up, Lydia was active in Girl Scouts, and she participated with the Pep Squad at Springfield High School.  Lydia married her high school sweetheart, Closen Christian, and together they raised a family in the Mohawk Valley.  She enjoyed living in the country, gardening, cooking, and reading books.

Faith and family were the most important things to Lydia.  She volunteered as a Children’s Leader at Bible Study Fellowship for many years.  Lydia took immense joy in her children and grandchildren.  She is survived by her sons Rick (Darci) Christian and Jim (Heidi) Christian of Springfield, and by her daughter, Amber Patterson of Pleasant Hill, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A private graveside memorial service will be held on September 16, 2024.  Remembrances may be sent to Bible Study Fellowship at BSFInternational.org
