Gate City – Lydia Ellen Calhoun Davidson, 93 of Gate City, (Yuma community) went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Nova Health and Rehab following a brief illness. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Lydia was a born again Christian. She was preceded in death by her parents, Corbin “Cobb” Calhoun and Fannie Shelton Calhoun; husband, Elmer Clifford Davidson; daughter, Alta Faye Thomas; sisters, Nannie Bell Gamble and Imalove Absher; brothers, George Calhoun and Rudolph Calhoun; great-granddaughter, Aubree Tate. Lydia is survived by her daughter, Edith Tate (Harold); granddaughters, Rebecca Green and Sarah Jones (James); grandson, Andy Tate (Amanda); great-granddaughters, Kaylee Green, Kyndall Green, Briana Jones and Natalie Jones; sisters, Pauline Gamble and Nelda Simpson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a drop by visitation from 11 am until 4 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Scott County Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Holston View Cemetery with Andy Tate officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City is serving the Davidson family.
