A celebration of the life of Lynda German- Barker 69 of Chico will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 12-3 at the Chico Elks Lodge. Lynda passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2016. She was born on August 1,1946 in Forest Hills, New York to John McGill and Joan Saunders. Lynda attended high school and college. Her family was Canadian from Toronto. Her mother moved to New York and was an artist. She married. Father was in the Navy. They moved to San Diego. They later divorced, but they stayed and she lived there until the 8th grade, then went to in Toronto with her grandmother for two years. Her mother moved to San Francisco, Lynda went there and finished school, got married and had two beautiful daughters. They moved to Richvale, they divorced and Lynda moved to Chico .She worked many jobs. Her two best ones were a medical courier for Medlab and Radiation Oncology for Enloe. She met the man of her dreams later in life, Michael Barker. They traveled, each sharing new places and things to see and do when they could. Lynda loved to help people and was loved by so many. She enjoyed travel, NASCAR and spending time with her grandchildren watching them grow into teenagers. She was like a "Mom" to many others who loved her very much. Lynda is survived by her loving husband Michael who took such great care of her with all of the ups and downs. Her daughters, who she loved very much, Debbie Honan of Forest Ranch, Ca, Darlene and son in-law Doug Yeggy of Chico. Grandchildren Jeremy and Sydney of Chico. They called her "Racecar Granma".
