Lynden Frederick Mahrt
March 18th, 1945 - June 27th, 2024
Lynden Frederick Mahrt, devoted husband, father, and papa, was born on March 18,1945 in Brisbane, Australia. After living in Japan, he moved to Carmel, California, where he grew up. An extraordinary athlete, he excelled at baseball, football, basketball and golf. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a United States Marine. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Lynden continued his education at the University of Arizona and enjoyed a long and successful career as an engineer, having a passion for all things math, physics and statistics. He could often be found in the kitchen, as he was an enthusiastic chef and gastronomer. In addition to his numerous accomplishments, Lynden was a friend to many and often said that having children was the best decision he ever made.
Lynden passed away on June 27, 2024 at his home in Tucson with Geri, his wife of 38 years, by his side. He is also survived by his adored children, Erin (Max) and Drew (Sarah), his three grandchildren, Jamie, Liam and Sophie, and his sister, Renee.
Donations may be made in Lynden's name to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona.
