Lynn Smith Blair
August 1st, 1957 - December 29th, 2018
WEST COLUMBIA—Lynn Smith Blair passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on December 29, 2018. She was the adored wife of Wayne P. Blair and incredible mother to Travis and Phillip Blair. Her smile and grace will be missed but she left behind a lifetime of memories which will be cherished by her friends and family. Lynn was born August 1, 1957 in Greenwood and was raised in West Columbia. She graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 1975 and married Wayne, the love of her life, the next weekend. She worked as a medical transcriptionist from high school until she retired. She helped raised money for the MS Society every year, especially enjoyed baking for her family, and was a well known expert on The Andy Griffith Show, able to come up with a line for any occasion. She also adored her grandson and the time she spent with him. In addition to her husband Wayne; sons, Phillip (Sara), and Travis (Dani); Lynn is survived by her sister, Carol A. Smith; brothers, J. Pratt Smith, III (Debbie) and Stuart C. Smith; her mother-in law, Dot Johnson; and her grandson, Madden Blair. She was predeceased by her parents, James Pratt Smith, Jr. and Marjorie F. Smith; her father-in-law, Bill Johnson; and her niece, Emily Smith. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. The family will hold visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a service to follow in the chapel. After, there will be a processional to Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Lynn would want donations made to the MS Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and she would like for you to participate in the MS Walk this year.
