Although described in her early school years as shy, Lynn embraced her tomboyish tendencies in her youth and fostered lifelong friendships throughout her school years. She played the clarinet while in school and danced the hula. She also played in a Hawaiian ukulele band, traveling and performing for a month throughout Japan. A graduate of the University of Hawaii with a degree in elementary education, Lynn's passion for teaching took her to Japan, where she taught English for five years. Her time in Japan was transformative, igniting a love for the Japanese language and culture, which she continued to use throughout much of her career. She even danced the hula at a Japanese wedding while living in Japan. Lynn was greatly loved by her students and created life long friendships with her fellow teachers.Returning to the United States, Lynn attended International Air Academy in Vancouver, Washington where she graduated at the top of her class. Her journey led her to a successful decade plus in the airline industry, where she worked for Air BC and later American Airlines. Her fluency in the Japanese language and her warm personality made her a beloved colleague and friend to many.On March 21, 1995, Lynn married the love of her life, Terry Stanton, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Steilacoom, Washington. They met while both working the Tokyo flight at America Airlines as customer service agents. Over their 33 years together including 29 years of marriage, they traveled to many places both domestic and international including Japan.Lynn continued her career in aviation becoming an aircraft scheduler, working for 3 different private companies over a period of 20 plus years. There she was known for her dedication, expertise, and ability to connect with people at all levels, as well as for her infectious smile and laugh.A lifelong advocate for natural health, Lynn embraced a holistic lifestyle, incorporating Young Living Essential Oils and natural remedies into her daily routine. In addition to hosting their own meetings, Lynn traveled with Terry to conventions and meetings in various cities and states over the last 12 plus years, including a Young Living company cruise to Alaska. In recent years, Lynn found joy in the simple pleasures of home life, cherishing her time with Terry in their beautiful Federal Way residence overlooking Puget Sound. After renting their home for 15 years, they were able to purchase it a little over four years ago, fulfilling a long-held dream.Although she didn’t make it home to Hawaii as often as she would have liked, Lynn loved her family and friends in Hawaii deeply. Lynn was a gentle soul whose gentleness and kindness created friendships throughout her life with people all over the world.Lynn had a deep love for the Lord and had a love for worship music. Her dedication to immersing herself in God's presence was not just a hobby but the very essence of who she was. Through her actions and her spirit, Lynn brought the peace and joy of the Lord to everyone she encountered.Despite her quiet demeanor, Lynn was anything but shy. Her sweet and giving nature made her a cherished friend, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. She embodied the true spirit of Christian fellowship, reflecting God's love in her interactions.Lynn's strength was evident in the way she faced life's challenges—with grace, faith, and an unwavering trust in God's plan regardless if what the circumstances may have looked like. Her gentle yet powerful presence was a reminder that true strength is often found in the quietest of places. She lived her life with a humility that inspired those around her to strive for the same.Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched and the memories we hold dear. Lynn, you will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing that you are now in the presence of the Lord you loved so dearly. Thank you for being a quiet strength, a gentle friend, and a shining example of God's love. Until we meet again (a Hui Hou in Hawaiian), may you rest in His eternal peace.
