Lynne Marie Beers

October 24th, 1961 - August 10th, 2024

Lynne Marie Beers, at age 62, passed from this life on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Dignity Gilbert Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona.

Lynne was born on October 24, 1961 in Racine, WI where she grew up with her family and pets. She was a Daughter, Sister, Dog Mom; “Judy,” Aunty, Great Aunty, Friend, and of course, a Queen of Pizzazz (she was passionate about rhinestones and getting the perfect manicure!). Lynne was bursting with love for all of her animals, friends, and family.

In 1990, Lynne began her three decade career as a RN, and she was known for delivering quality, compassionate care. Over the years, she brought that passion to almost every nursing speciality,  and in recent years to mental and behavioral health nursing. She truly was an amazing nurse and continued to advance her education throughout her career.

She was married to Voyl Beers October 24, 1998 on her 37th birthday. They settled down in Lake Wilson, MN where Lynne discovered her love of horseback riding and camping adventures with her new Minnesota friends.

She was always excited to be busy, especially if it meant trying something new:

whether it was needle felting, reading books, cooking recipes with nice kitchen gadgets, canning enough salsa to fill the entire basement, jewelry making (“More bright orange glass beads please!!”), or even opening her own yarn shop: Lynne’s Sit and Knit–she never stopped spinning out new projects. Lynne and Voyl parted ways in 2020, and Lynne began another new adventure: travel nursing across America with her Keystone camper and best furry friend Mayzee. Lynne settled down in San Tan Valley, Arizona in 2024 at her new home with Mayzee.

Lynne is preceded in death by parents Phyllis & James Kortesmaki, Earl Draper; ex-husband Voyl Beers, and step-son Michael Beers.

Survived by brothers Lee (Holly) and Dale; sister Amy (Steve); nieces and nephews Dallas, Jeannie (Ryan); Amber (Bob), Zak, Olivia; James (Kaylee), Joanna (Jacob), Julie (Nate), Abby, David, Peter, Daniel, Rebekah; grand-nieces and grand-nephews Taylor, Noah, and Kennedy; Avery, Ayla, Alayna, and Arley; Bonnie and Adalynn; Theodosia and Wooton. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Memorial service Saturday, October 5, at 10:30am at Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church, 4100 S Bahnson Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57103

Memorials can be made to Lost Timber Bible Camp in Chandler, MN or to Happy the Dog Ministries in Sioux Falls, SD.

Dear, sweet Lynne. I have rarely met such a kind, caring person. Fierce when needed, but always compassionate, and dressed to the nines. Even when on her beautiful horse. What a hole her passing is leaving in the world. My sincere sympathy to her family and her many, many friends. Marsha Jans, Pipestone, MN. 💔

Lynne was such a mentor to me. I worked with her in Tyler at the hospital. She will forever be my Judy and I loved all the extras about Lynne ❤️

Linzie Dagel

Lynne, I remember when you “prank” called Dagel (my husband) and had him scared to death. Even though you were an anxious mess for months that he would come and find you (you know he wouldn’t). I still loved you and we would laugh about this for YEARS! I loved trail riding with you, and now think about you, Avis, Heather, and Tanya sitting around the camp fire and trail riding in the most beautiful Heavens we all dream of. Be free, live free, care free under the night sky…enjoy the sunshine, ride, baby, ride. I love you, always.

I worked with Lynne at Tyler, in fact we shared an office while she was surgery manager. We became close friends and I have so admired her zest for life and being brave enough to travel and see the country. The rhinestones and manicures is truly Lynne. Blessed be her memory.
