Madeline Jean Barton, 11, of Hagaman, NY and Naples, NY, earned her Angel Wings on Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 11:11 AM at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY surround by her loving family. Born in Wilmington, N.C. on March 2, 2005 a daughter of Thaddeus Barton and Amy Weaver Stearns. She lived in North Carolina for a time and later moved to Hagaman, NY and Naples, NY. She currently was a 6th Grader at Naples Central School. She was very active in School activities which includes, steel drums, clarinet, piano and Safety Patrol. Madeline was a bright little girl and enjoyed many things during her life. She enjoyed studying science, mythology, and reading various books. She loved movies like Harry Potter, Princess Bride and Star Wars and loved having tea parties, swimming and pokemon. Madeline loved traveling with her family and enjoyed camping and summer vacation with her Grandma. She also loved volunteering her time and spending time with the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department and would say that she wanted to join the department someday. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family that included her many cousins and friends. She always would give the greatest hugs. She is survived by her loving parents, Mother, Amy Stearns and Step-Father, David Stearns of Hagaman, NY. Father, Thaddeus Barton of Naples, NY. Her brother, Caiden Stearns of Hagaman, NY. Grandparents, Michael and Sherri Heins of Naples, NY, Denise LaBelle Weaver and her Special Papa, Harold Weaver of Hagaman, NY and Carol Stearns of Amsterdam. Great-grandparents, Walter and Arline LaBelle of Wilmington, N.C. Aunts and uncles, Randy (Brooke) Weaver of Indian Lake, NY, Siobhan (Rick) Baker of Naples, NY, Michael (Meagan) Stearns of Amsterdam. Great -aunts, great-uncles, cousins, classmates and best friends Lisa and Alexis (Louie) also survive. She was predeceased by great-grandparents, Janet LaBelle , Floyd and Anna Weaver and Jean and Roger Meeker. Grandfather, Richard Stearns and Stanley Barton. Her special cousin, not so little, Mike Weaver. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Madeline's life will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at 7:00PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday February 15, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A Special Celebration of her life and reception will also be held on Sunday February 19, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Hagaman Fire Department, 126 South Pawling St., Hagaman, NY 12086. Memorial contributions can be made in Madeline's memory to the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, and to the Ronald McDonald House, 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642.
