Madlyn Larson

Madlyn Lala Larson passed away peacefully on March 26, 2011 at Porter Hospice Johnson Center in Denver, CO. She was born on June 23, 1929 to Vernon and Lala (Freytag) Gregg in McCook, Nebraska. Madlyn earned her RN at St. Luke’s Hospital, Denver in 1950 and began her nursing career at Weld County Hospital in Greeley, CO. In 1952, she married to Albert Gustav Larson and they settled in Ault & Greeley where they raised their family. Madlyn began her career as a surgical nurse at Weld County Hospital then served as office nurse to Dr. Robert McDivitt for many years. She finally retired after serving as p.m. charge nurse at the Fair Acres Nursing Home. She & Albert moved to Denver in 2008. Madlyn was known for her sense of humor, cheerful demeanor, kindness to her patients, and her deep devotion to her family and friends. She loved to bowl, play golf and bridge, do needlepoint & can the fruits & vegetables Albert grew. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert Larson; son, Greg Larson and wife Diane; daughter, Jaylin Sale and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Thomas Larson and wife Kimberly, Scott Larson, Kinsey and Jansen Sale; brother, Donald Gregg; and sister, Kathy Lampe. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Mark A. Larson. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 at Adamson Chapel in Greeley, CO. Viewing also on Friday from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the Funeral service. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery following the luncheon.
