Marcela M Garcia, age 62, beloved wife, mother, grand and great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at her home, after a lengthy courageous brave battle with kidney and heart complications and other medical conditions that denied her of fully enjoying life with her family. Marcela was born in San Geronimo at the family ranch to the late Jose and Margaret Quintana. Marcela attended the West Las Vegas School system, before attending Luna Vocational Institute where she received numerous certificates in drafting designs. She worked at the San Miguel County assessor's where she met her husband Gerald and spend the last 37 years with. Marcela also worked at the NM Behavioral Institute as a Tech Supervisor. A loving mother and a homemaker, Marcela enjoyed cooking holiday meals for her family. For many years before her declining health, she enjoyed babysitting the grandkids, loved to watch western channels, fishing, painting, carving, drawing, traveling and going to the casinos. She was a devoted sports fan, attending her kids and grandkids baseball, basketball and football games. Marcela's other passions were spending time and talking with her sisters and brothers who she loved dearly. She was also an avid Broncos, Chiefs and Giants fan. Marcela is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Gerald who married on Valentine's Day 1986. She is also survived by her daughters Marian (Tony), Corazon Michelle, sons; Geraldo (Michelle) and Billy Ray (Linda). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren Dylan, Natasha, Mikayla, Angelique, Destiny, Mario, Jeremiah, Maliyah and Zakk. She had two great grandchildren Dylan Rae and Kinsley Delilah Moon. She is also survived by her 12 siblings Mary Rowlodge (Arthur) Terry Cde Baca (Nick), Mela Chavez (Mel) Helen Quintana, Jean Salas (Wilfred), Clorinda Quintana, Sandra Pacheco, Ramona Lucero (Steve), Della Lopez (Pete) Lucille Quintana, Jose Quintana (Andrew) and Jimmy Quintana (Amy). Also surviving her is her Mother-in-law Josie Garcia, brothers-in-law Pres Eloy and Louisa Garcia and Robert and Michele Garcia; and also leaves behind a number of other loving relatives, nieces, nephews and close friends. Her daughters Corazon and Marian lovingly cared for her the last 10 years of her life. Marcela's grandson Mario and husband also provided assistance with care over the years. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for her the warmest gratitude. Marcela was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Margaret Quintana, grandparents Enrique and Eufila L'Lesperance, her brother in laws Nick Cde Baca, Pete Lopez and Wilfred Salas, Nephew Johnny Lopez, Uncle and Aunt Jacobo and Magdalena Quintana. Pallbearers are; Corazon Garcia, Geraldo Garcia, Billy Ray Garcia, Natasha Roybal, Mario Maes and Dylan Martinez. Rosary Services will be held on Friday, January 17th at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at 10 am. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas NM.
