"Northfield-Marcella (Bresnahan) Racine left this world to meet her Savior on July 2, 2018. She was born in Holyoke, MA on May 9, 1932 to John and Marcella (Pariseau) Bresnahan. She was the sixth of seven children. She was pre deceased by her brothers John, James George, Robert, and Michael Bresnahan and her sister Lucille (Bresnanhan) Milanovich. Marcie is survived by her loving sons Richard (Carol) Racine and Alan Racine. Shea also leaves her devoted grandchildren Jennifer (Timothy) Nale, Daniel (Jennifer) Racine, Ryan (Kim) Racine, Clinton (Molly) Racine, Adriane Racine (Ozgun Sulekoglu). She also leaves 13 great grandchildren. Marcie will be especially missed by her niece Robin (Milton) Severance who acted as her caregiver for many years. She also leaves many other nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. Marcie married Richard Racine on February 14, 1949 in Brattleboro, Vermont and they lived their entire married life in So. Hadley. Rick pre deceased her in 1982. Marcie couldn’t sew a stitch, much to the chagrin of her seamstress mother, but she excelled when it came to public speaking. She became a Tupperware Lady when her husband became ill and was promoted quickly to manager. Marcie could sell anything! She had an illustrious career with Tupperware and was in the top ten percent for sales in the country. She was often a speaker at the conventions. She saw the world with trips she won and often took her mother as her traveling companion. Marcie retired and moved to Northfield in 2001 and lived happily at Squakeag Village for 16 years until health issues prevented her from living independently. She lived briefly with her niece until health issues necessitated a move to Charlene Manor in Greenfield for the remainder of her time on earth. Marcie will be remembered fondly for her kindness to everyone and her love of all dogs. She leaves behind her beloved Maltese, Sugar. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Regional Dog Shelter, 10 Sandy Lane, Turners Falls, Ma 01376 or to the charity of one’s choice. The family wishes to thank Life Path for helping Marcie stay at home as long as she did, and to all the folks at Charlene Manor who cared for her with dignity and respect in her final days. Many thanks to Jane Plager, NP and Michael Plager, MD for the excellent care they gave Marcie over the years. Arrangements were handled by Beers and Story Funeral Home in So Hadley, MA. Services were private at Marcie’s request"
