SHACKELFORD II, Marcellus Andre “Shack”, 38, of Tampa, Florida passed away Monday, October 23, 2017. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, raised in Gretna, Louisiana and moved to Tampa from San Antonio, Texas in 2009. He graduated from West Jefferson High School class of 1998 in Harvey, LA attended Texas Southern University where he played football and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas, San Antonio, TX. He served in the U.S. Army where he met the love of his life, Ramara. Shack loved being a teacher and basketball coach at Wesley Chapel High School. He loved to recite and share “Shackisms” as a result of his “Shackisms” he is a character that will be missed by all. Being a homebody he enjoyed family time and eating a great meal. Shack was a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan and enjoyed playing Fantasy Football while forming lasting friendships. He is preceded in death by his father, Marcellus Andre Shackelford I. He is survived by his loving wife, Ramara C. Springfield -Shackelford; 2 sons, Cam’ron I. Springfield and Marcellus Andre Shackelford III; mother, Joyce Shackelford; mother-in-law, LaVerne Springfield; grandmother, Addie G. Moss; sister, Jamelle Richardson; brother, Michael R. Shackelford and his wife, Kristie; nieces and nephews, Darius Moss, Jamari Pope, Ruth Shackelford, Nayomi Shackelford, Abigail Shackelford and Aunt Lydia Shackelford, Aunt Phyllis Fisher, Uncle Virgil Moss “Skip” and a host of cousins and close friends. A funeral service to celebrate Shack’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at North Pointe Church. A viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. A reception to follow the service. For those needing hotel accommodations, a block of rooms has been set up at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Tampa North- Wesley Chapel at 2775 Cypress Ridge Rd. Also in lieu of flowers the family has requested a donation in honor of "Shack" be made to Out of Zion organization. (www.oozion.org). As many of you know Ramara and Shack's youngest son, Dre, has special needs and this is an organization they have utilized in his development.
