Margaret Jean Acosta
July 20th, 1935 - August 11th, 2021
Margaret Jean Acosta of Denver, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. She was born on July 20, 1935 in Boulder, CO. The daughter of John Madrigal and Mary Lou (Rubalcava). She was predeceased by her parents, younger brother Rudy, and her husband Richard “Dick” Acosta. Growing up in her beloved Boulder, she went to Catholic Schools; Mt. Saint Gertrude, and Sacred Heart before attending and graduating from Boulder High School in 1953. She spent some time at CU Boulder, before moving to North Denver with her parents. It was there that she met her husband of almost 43 years, Richard Acosta, with whom they raised two daughters. She was employed for over 40 years by Gates Rubber Company as an International Data Specialist, and finished her last years in the employee store before retiring in 1990. Marge was loved and cared for, and will be greatly missed by her brother; Everett (Kindra) Madrigal, daughters; Laura Garcia, Valarie (Michael) Perez; Grandchildren, Melanie Devine, Nikki (Nick) Lathrop, Ryan Garcia, Yvette (Brandon) Towns, Alyssa Perez, Dominic Perez; Great-grandchildren, Victoria Devine, Gabrielle Devine, Madison Lathrop, Joseph Lathrop, Adrian Towns, Isabel Towns, and several very special nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Fort Logan National Cemetery – Shelter “C”, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd, Denver, Colorado 80235. A Celebration of life will also be held at a future date TBD.
