Mrs. Margaret Cockman Amick, 81, of Greensboro, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Beacon Place. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Amick was born in Guilford County October 22, 1928, to Hurley and Nona Summers Cockman. She loved playing bridge and singing. She sang at Memorial Presbyterian Church when she was younger and at Burr Mill Club. She was very involved with politics and worked the election polls. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Alan Amick, a sister and two brothers. Mrs. Amick is survived by her son Joel Amick, of the home; daughter-in-law, Paula Amick Ewell, of Greensboro; brother, Larry Cockman and wife Jane, of McLeansville; grandchildren, April Amick Sanders and husband Wayne, of Seagrove and Alex Amick, of Greensboro; four great-grandchildren, Carrie, Cody, Caleb, and Colton.
