She was a law clerk for her husband?s law firm, John R. Ashmead Attorney-at-Law, in Brooklyn, New York. She was a member of the Eastern Star and an avid world traveler. She was a recipient of the Hanson Place ? Seventh Day Adventist Church Community Award in Brooklyn, New York. Survivors include 2 sons, Robert of Massapequa, New York, Richard of St. Petersburg, and a daughter, Jeannette Comstock of St. Petersburg, Florida, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes and Cremation Tribute Center ? Nineth Street Chapel, St. Petersburg.
