Margaret Carver-DeRose

“Margaret Lou Chase was born June 2nd, 1932 in Denver. Her parents were Louis Dwight Chase and Beulah (Harmon) Chase. She grew up in Johnstown, Colorado for the first 10 or so years of her life. After her father died, her mother and her moved to Laramie where she finished her schooling. In fact, she finished college at the age of 17. Around 1950, she married Robert Laue and soon gave birth to Louis Robert Laue who presently resides in Huntington Beach, CA. Eventually, the marriage dissolved and Margaret and Louis moved to California. In 1957, Margaret married Thomas David Carver of Missouri. They lived in California, Indiana, Missouri and Colorado. In 1965, Margaret gave birth to daughter, Keyta Melisa Carver. Thomas died in 1973 from cancer. Margaret worked in the Office Supply business as a purchasing agent. According to friends, she was extremely good at her job and made many friends and colleagues from the business. After the demise of the industry thanks to retail overload, she retired from the business. She married attorney Albert George DeRose in 1990 after a very long courtship. She raised her daughter in Wheat Ridge and lived in her home up to a few days before her death on April 14th, 2009. Margaret loved traveling, golf, debating everything, reading, collecting art, Gaudi, British humor, history, Sambuca, good movies, going to trivia, eating fish and chips, the Briarwood, high tea, great granddaughter Ariel and the rest of the family. She worked very hard in everything she did and she was smart as a whip. She loved to make things like birdhouses, framed pictures and albums from her travels and she had an amazing green thumb.
