Margaret Zumbolo DiCaprio

Obituary Montgomery County Amsterdam, NY Margaret DiCaprio R.N., 87, of Division St. Amsterdam, passed away Thursday February 11, 2016 at Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family at her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 13, 1928 a daughter of the late Anthony and Teresa Dian Zumbolo. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended Amsterdam Schools. Margaret was employed for most of her career as a Registered Nurse at the former Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She later worked for a time at the former Mt. Loretto Nursing Home. She was a dedicated RN over the years. She was also a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She was also a member of the Horace J. Inman Senior Center in Amsterdam. She married George DiCaprio. He passed away on July 24, 1996. She is survived by her children. One beloved son, Mark G. (Melissa) DiCaprio of Queensbury, NY. Two beloved daughters, Jill Sweeney of Mayfield, NY and Elizabeth Headley of Winchester, VA. Three sisters, Josephine Capel, Antoinette Turo and Angie Crocetta. Her cherished grandchildren, Marco, Marissa, Matthew, Andrew, Nick, Jay and Megan. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday February 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main St. Amsterdam. The Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Jeffrey M, L'Arche, MS, Pastor and Concelebrated with Rev. Pascal 'Pat" Ianotti. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 9:30-10:30AM in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of St. Mary's Church. Private interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 E. Main St., Amsterdam, NY 12010, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or to the Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231.
