Margaret "Peggy" A. Reamon
May 25th, 1926 - July 2nd, 2018
Miss Margaret A. “Peggy” Reamon, 92, of Ridge Road, Canajoharie died on Monday July 2, 2018 at Mountain Valley Hospice following a brief illness. Born on May 25, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ann Sweetman Reamon. A lifelong area resident, Peggy was a 1943 graduate of Canajoharie High School. She attended Albany Business College and the American Institute of Banking, Schenectady Chapter. In 1988 she retired after a 39 year career in the banking industry as the Assistant Vice President of Central National Bank of Canajoharie. Peggy was a devout catholic and was a former member of St. Peter’s & Paul’s Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a volunteer for St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, the Canajoharie Clinic and Arkell Hall. Peggy was also a Charter Member of the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Corps and was a dispatcher for over 25 years years. Peggy will be remembered for her love of her faith and her care and concern for everyone that surrounded her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her nephew Paul C. Reamon and his wife Terry, great nephews Paul M, Peter D, and Christopher J Reamon. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ann Sweetman Reamon, her brother Paul W. Reamon who passed on Aug 16, 2003, her nephew John M. Reamon on March 5, 2014, grandnephew Patrick J. Reamon on March 25, 1993. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday July 7, 2018 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 119 Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY with the Rev. Jim Davis as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to National Shrine of North American Martyrs, 136 Shrine Road, Auriesville, NY 12072. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
