Margaret was born at Glencoe, Wyoming to Fred and Bessie (Fisher) Schlieker. She told us many times of how, when she was a young girl her family had struggled through a terrible blizzard from Wyoming to reach their new farm located between Homedale and Marsing. We remember all the interesting stories of how she helped her father, family and friends build their home here on the family farm. While still in school she met, fell in love, then married Aaron Salisbury who also attended Homedale High school and they were able to celebrate 64 loving anniversaries together. Dad passed away in 2012 and Mom was able to remain in her family home as she had hoped until her recent illness. We can never fully thank all the amazing people who have helped Mom over the last few years, but we do love you all for the kindness you have shown her and for all the wonderful things you have done for her. We wish to especially thank her Grandson “Brian” who watched over her and lovingly cared for her for the last couple of years. Margaret and Aaron raised five children: Richard, Janet Samartino, Robert, Patricia O’Shea and Nancy Nordlund. She was preceded in death by Aaron; her brother, Bud; her sister Marion Smith and our sister Janet. Some of our best memories of Mom are of gatherings here on the farm with family and friends. Mom was always able to make you comfortable and her meals made you feel like you were in heaven. We remember her gentleness, loving heart, her kindness, and that she always thought of her family before herself. She was incredibly intelligent and she loved to help us all. She really enjoyed playing cards. Bridge and Pinochle were a couple of her favorite games. She loved working with ceramics and sewing blankets for each of her 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was especially fond of her beautiful iris patch which was rich with every color of the rainbow when it bloomed. We are sad to not have mom at home with us, but each of us will always remember her caring touch, her kind words and her welcoming smile. We celebrate her life and what she means to all of us. WE will miss you!!! Family and friends attended a Memorial Service at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, ID on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
