Margarette "Peg" R. McGregor
March 30th, 1929 - September 13th, 2014
Margarette R."Peg" McGregor, 85, of Moyer St., Canajoharie, NY, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Palatine Nursing Home in Palatine Bridge NY. Born in VanHornesville, NY on March 30, 1929 a daughter of the late Levi and Louise Hazzard. She was a lifelong area resident and attended VanHornesville Schools. Margarette for over 25 years was the owner and operator of the former McGregor's Antique Store in Canajoharie. Following her retirement she worked at the Canajoharie Information Booth Downtown. She was devoted to the community and was a life member of the Canajoharie Fire Department Auxiliary and was a member of the Palatine Literary Club. She married Jack McGregor who passed away in March of 2003. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara (William) Loske of Canajoharie, NY, Jeanne Freeman of Casselberry, Florida and Susan McGregor of Fort Plain, NY. A son, Peter G. McGregor of California. Four grandchildren, Tracy (Barry) Mead, Troy (Misty) Loske, Joseph Osley and Janice (Burton) Dillenbeck. Four great-grandchildren, Shelby and Colby Mead, Aidan and Nathan Dillenbeck. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Along with her parents and husband she was predeceased also by a Sister, Dorothy Bohacek. Peg was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Nurses and staff at Palatine Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to their mother during these difficult times. Calling hours will be held on MondayEvening,September 15, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00P.M. at the Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St. Canajoharie, NY, 13317. Private interment of cremated remains will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery, St. Johnsville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
