Margene Hodge

Margene Hodge Margene Hodge (Marge to all her friends) of Elmira, Oregon passed away October 12, 2018 at Pete Moore Hospice House due to congestive heart failure and kidney failure at the age of 79. She was born in The Dalles, Oregon on October 6, 1939. She grew up in Molalla, Oregon and at the age of 17 moved to Tillamook, Oregon. Shortly after graduation Margene met her handsome husband to be, James “Jim” Hodge, who was on leave from the Navy. They married August 2, 1958. They were stationed at Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA until Jim’s honorable discharge from the Navy in 1962. They moved to Noti, previously called Starcamp, and then settled in Elmira where she has resided at the same property for the past 56+ years. Margene was a stay at home mom until her children were raised. She worked in the hospital industry working at Sacred Heart Hospital until her retirement. Margene enjoyed going to garage sales and thrift stores. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was an avid Coca-Cola collector and enjoyed hosting parties in the 50s restaurant they had built on their property. She is survived by her dog Tasha, her son Calvin and his children Kody and Kayela and her children, all of Eugene, and her daughter Sharon and son-in-law Brian of Elmira and their children Derik and daughter-in-law Marceya and grandchildren Ezra and Everly, all of Rocklin, CA; Jeremy of Eugene, and Tyler of West Hills, CA, and son James (Buddy) from Conway, AR and his children Lacey of Grants Pass, OR and Jesse of Eugene, OR. A graveside service will be held at Lane Memorial Gardens, 5300 W 11th Ave, Eugene, OR on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 am followed by a celebration of life at Elmira Grange, 88764 Sprague St, Elmira, OR immediately following the service.
