Ullrey Memorial Chapel
Margie Mae Romero
March 5th, 1929 - January 21st, 2015
March 5, 1929 - January 21, 2015 Margie was born at home in Enterprise, Oklahoma where she lived until she married her first husband James Sanderson and moved to Richmond, California in 1944. She gave birth to two boys; James Sanderson Jr. and Derrell Sanderson. After her brief marriage to James, she married CC Slocum and they welcomed a little girl, Patricia Slocum (Zanocco) the next year, 1948. CC passed in 1957 and Margie raised the three kids in San Jose, California. She was surprised later in life with the birth of her third son, Trevor Irvine, in 1968. Soon after she met and married the man of her dreams, Mickey Romero, August 9, 1975. Margie and Mickey lived very happily together in Yuba City, CA for over 25 years. Sadly, Mickey passed in April of 2014. May their hearts find one another and rest in peace. Margie was described by her family as sassy and tenacious, with a strength that held people together. Margie loved her family dearly and she will be missed just as much. Margie is survived by their combined family of nine children James Sanderson Jr. (Sue Sanderson), Derrell Sanderson (Carol Sanderson), Patricia Zanocco (late Fred Zanocco), Trevor Irvine (Michelle Irvine), Doreen Quintana, Shirley Quinonas, late Roy Romero (Linda Romero), Theresa Enriquez, and Katherine (Tina) Romero. Margie is also survived by many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Services are being held at the Ullrey Memorial Chapel at 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 11 am.
