Kathleen, GA- Margie A. Shaffer passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2013, at her home. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Wendell Huff and Deacon John Fowler will officiate. Ms. Shaffer was born on June 1, 1938, to the late James and Sudie Carver in Harchville, GA. Ms. Shaffer was retired from Civil Service/Robins Air Force Base where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Survivors include: Children, Scott (Vickie) Shaffer of LaGrange, KY, Kelli (Stephen) Duren of Culman, Al, Kirby (Tammy)Shaffer of Dallas, GA, Tammie Shaffer Evans of Kathleen, GA; siblings, Mary Angeline Hicks of Tyler, TX, Jimmie Sue Lindsey of Winona, TX, Jerry Lamar Carver of Houston, TX, Larry Edward Carver of Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Jeremy Bennett, Shannon Hamby, Cory Hamby, Jamie Shaffer, Clay Shaffer, Sammie Shaffer, Alex Shaffer, Mikhila Shaffer, Hannah Shaffer, Abby Shaffer; and many other cousins and family members. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
