Maria "Teresa" Hernandez

On Wednesday, December 26th, 2018, Maria "Teresa" Hernandez, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother passed away at age 75. Teresa was born on May 19th, 1943 in Albuquerque, NM to her beloved parents who preceded her in death, Rafael & Josie Tapia. She worked at Kirkland Air Force Base for over 30 years in accounting and finance. Her passion was her family, cooking, reading, crocheting blankets for newborns and celebrating the holidays. She loved entertaining her family and friends with grand Open Houses for Christmas and parties on New Years Eve. Teresa graced us with such class and elegance and will be remembered for her loving heart. Teresa's greatest loves were her grandchildren and twin great-grand babies who brought her the most joy in life. Her other greatest love was her husband, who she affectionately called Herb. They met at the age of 15 at a Fats Domino dance and were together ever since. Teresa is survived by her husband of 54 years, Herbert Hernandez, her three children, Monica and Dean Lundstrom, Carla and Michael Anaya, and Carlo and Carol Hernandez, her grandchildren, Devyn and Tyler Parrott, Hunter and Rebekah Lundstrom, Stone Anaya, Carlyse Hernandez and Cade Hernandez, great grandchildren Croix Parrott and Maisyn Parrott. A celebration of life open house will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 11:00am-2:00pm at their home on 3075 San Ygnacio SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
