Maria Vazquez
February 9th, 1934
Maria Vazquez, 83, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away surrounded by her family on June 27, 2017 in Salinas. She was born on February 9, 1934 in Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico. Before retiring, Maria worked in agriculture as a field worker for over 40 years. Maria enjoyed spending time in the garden, watering her plants and flowers. She also had a great love of animals. She had several canaries and two dogs as pets. Maria loved her family with all of her heart and spirit. Her sacrifices and love will never be forgotten. It was through her sacrifices that her children and family were able to have a better life. Maria's love for her family was truly a precious gift from God. Maria is survived by, her children, Oscar Lopez Vazquez and Jorge Lopez Vazquez both of Salinas and Norma Dolores Lopez Vazquez of Mexico. grandchildren, Juan Antonio, Cesar Alfredo, Norma Lizette, Angeles Guadalupe, Carlos de Jesus and Katarina Melissa Gutierrez Lesley Vianey, Stephanie Natalie and Veronica Georgina Lopez all of Mexico. great-grandchildren, Jorge Adriel, Ashley Yedany and Grecia Gomez Lopez Damian, Juan and Ariadna Diaz Lopez and Cristobal Gutierrez Lopez all of Mexico. She is preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Vazquez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 1-9pm with a Rosary vigil at 7pm, all at Healey Mortuary. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, July 3, 2017 10am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church 240 Calle Cebu Salinas, CA 93901. Cremation to follow services.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
