Marian Jean (Hunsche) Christensen, aged 82, passed away on November 26, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on July 19, 1933 in Rising City, Nebraska to Henry and Irene (Anderson) Hunsche. She attended country schools near and in Ulysses, Nebraska. The family moved to Herman, Nebraska in 1941. Marian went to Herman Public Schools until the family moved to Blair, Nebraska and she graduated with the Blair High School Class of 1951. She married Robert Christensen on the 21st of June 1952 at the First Methodist Church in Blair. He was in the U.S. Air Force and they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and later to Germany. Marian returned to Nebraska to have their first child, Linda. Following Bob†™s discharge, they became farmers and lived near Herman, and son Jon was born. They later lived in Blair and Marian worked at Blair City Hall. In October of 1967 the family moved to Denver, Colorado. Marian went to work for the City of Westminster in 1968 starting off as a billing clerk and worked her way up to the position of Pension Administrator and Investment Officer. She retired after 25 years of service in 1993. After retirement they purchased a home in Mesa, Arizona and spent their winters there. Their daughter, Linda married Bob Dietzen and they have four children; Mike (Kelly) Dietzen, Suzy (Nick) Moore, John and Lizzie Dietzen. Their son Jon married Teresa Edgar and they have a daughter, Zoya. They have three great grandsons; Jackson Dietzen, Maddox and Alexander Moore. Marian loved to keep her hands busy, crocheting †œscrubbies†�, made many porcelain dolls and made Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for nieces and nephews, later selling them at craft shows. And she loved her volunteer work at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. She is preceeded in death by her parents Henry and Irene Hunsche and also, her sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Earl Pace. She is survived by her brother Warren †œBud†� (Pat) Hunsche and sisters-in-law Norma (Marvin) Heise and Sharon (Dick) Loftus, all of Blair and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service Thursday, Dec. 3 at 10:30 am Aspen Arvada Chapel, 6370 Union St. Interment will take place at the Blair Cemetery at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to Lutheran Medical Center Hospice, Wheat Ridge, Colorado; or the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, Arvada Colorado.
