Marian L. Dillenback
December 19th, 1926 - October 16th, 2019
Mrs. Marian L. Ehle Dillenback, 92, of Mohawk Street, Fort Plain died peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born at home in East Creek, New York she was the daughter of the late Loris and Madge Mosher Ehle. A lifelong area resident of the Mohawk Valley, Marian attended local schools and graduated from Fort Plain High School, Class of 1944. She then went on to attend Syracuse University. On June 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Seward J. Dillenback, Jr. Together for over 50 years, they had a blissful marriage and shared travels and many wonderful times together with family and friends. That union ended with his passing on July 13, 1999. Marian was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Ehle. Marian took great pride in her heritage. She was the last living member of the Ehle Family, who were one of the earlier settlers of the Mohawk Valley. Marian also enjoyed history, the arts and being a homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was her loving family. Marian enjoyed family dinners, holidays and simply being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her three children, Janine Nelson and her husband Bill of Canajoharie, NY, Colleen Sieme and her husband Warren of Delmar, NY, Scott Dillenback and his wife Lynne of New Hartford, NY; four grandchildren, Hilary White, Vanessa Castiglione, Emily Sieme and Gregory Sieme and his wife Erika; five great grandchildren, Ethan, Nick, Natalie, Norah, and Orion; one sister-in-law, Suzanne Watson Ehle; three nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with the Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday prior to the funeral, beginning at 11a.m. at the funeral home.
