Marian Dzugan
August 13th, 1934 - April 11th, 2024
Marian (nee Zalaszewski) Dzugan, age 89, of Peoria, AZ (formerly Chicago/South Holland, IL) peacefully passed away at home on April 11, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late George; loving and devoted mother to Shirley (Bill) Gibbons, Michael (Peggy), Gary, and Kenneth; proud grandmother of Matthew (Linda), Paul (Melissa), Mitchell, Sara, Emily and Joshua; adoring great grandmother of Jackson and Sebastian; fond sister to the late Rita Schmidt, Elizabeth Fischer, Judith Grindey, Ruth Zalaszewski; fond step sister to the late Phil Borowy; aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Marian was born in Chicago to the late Frank and Anastasia Zalaszewski. After graduating CVS High School, Marian worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. She met George, they married and she dedicated her time to raising four children. Marian then returned to the workforce in Chicago for more than two decades, employed by RyderTypes Inc., then LEC Ltd. One of her greatest joys came from sharing adventures and creating memories with her grandchildren. Disney World and Sedona were two of her favorite places. After retiring, she moved to Arizona where she enjoyed spending time with her youngest grandchild, family visits and outings, and exploring Arizona.
Visitation is Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Private Interment to be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.
