Marian Clara Montoya

Marian was born in Dacono, Colorado on June 24, 1939 to Ira and Gladys (Simmons) Davies. She was the youngest of their three daughters after Ethel DeBrey and Darlene Hein. She attended Frederick, Colorado schools until her senior year of high school when her family moved to Denver. She graduated from North High School in June 1957. Also in June 1957 she married her husband, Johnny Montoya. Together they had two children—Barb and Jeff—and raised them in Frederick, Colorado. They later divorced. Marian was a stay-at-home mom until her kids got older. She then tried some different jobs until she began truck driving. She loved traveling the country and seeing new things while driving team with her son-in-law Fred. When she retired from truck driving, she became a greeter at Walmart. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, gambling at casinos and playing bingo. She passed away on March 23, 2023 at Berthoud Care and Rehabilitation. She is survived by her children, Barb (Fred) Garcia and Jeff Montoya; three grandchildren—Sarah Jean Ladd, Alexis Rae Garcia, Jeffrey Lee Montoya; and two great-grandsons—Anthony Aaron Garcia and Zander Mykal Norman. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters so now they are united.
