Marianne Sonne

Marianne was born in Illinois to Richard and Gladys Sonne, she and her family moved to Longmont Colorado when she was very young, and she was a 1953 graduate of Longmont High School. Her family moved to Northglenn in 1965, where she resided for the rest of her life. She worked in banking as a Proof Operator for 45 years. During her retirement she enjoyed painting, fishing, drives to the mountains to see the changing leaves, and taking care of her various small pets. Marianne outlived her sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Albert Schell, brother and sister-in-law William and Barbara Sonne, as well as her niece, Stacey Sonne, and nephew David Schell (Kristine). She is survived by her nephew Kenneth Schell (Laura) and niece Nancy Carr (Brian), as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was a fun person with her whit and impish sense of humor. Nephews and nieces were more than happy to make Christmas and birthday wish lists, knowing that Aunt Mari would not disappoint! She was always interested in what was going on in their lives. She left us with many happy memories, and it was very sad when she started losing hers. She was there to help, whether we needed a low interest rate loan, an emergency contact, a cheap car with low miles, a summer job, or a stick of Juicy Fruit or Doublemint gum. Marianne will be missed by those who were close to her and those who enjoyed joking around with her, but she is with those she has missed for so long, and that will give us peace.
