To Marie's Family I offer my condolences. This past January I ran into Marie in Melbourne at a local ice cream stand. She was treating herself to a yummy ice cream cone as was I. (Both of us feeling quilty pleasure in eating an ice cream cone). She was radiate, beautiful, with her pretty face smiling at me, mirroring the joy I felt to see her again and laughing at the oddity of seeing each other at such a place. I was so sad when she told me she had cancer. I looked at her and said Oh Marie, you'll beat this. I told many mutual friends I had seen her and how glowingly beautiful she looked, and that I was sure she would beat it. I am sorry she is not in front of me again so I could drop my melting ice cream cone and just hug her and tell her she was one of the "classiest ladies" I had ever met. She was one of a kind, beautiful inside and out. I will miss not running into her at Target, or Publix, or at the ice cream store in Melbourne. God Speed Marie.

Marie was a dear friend and a joy to all who knew her. She was always upbeat and generous, with a warm smile and quick sense of humor. Marie was an incredible wife, Mom and Mammy and loved her family passionately. And, she was blessed with a rare gift of hospitality, which she shared with all. We will miss her. Maggie & John

A smiling face, a terrific traveler, a great personality and always ready to join the fun or experience an adventure. Marie and Norm were on many trips shared via the ski club that we belonged to through the years. I will always retain the wonderful memories that Marie left us and hopefully, that will be your source of strength during this time and will continue to keep her presence near to your heart. Dear Norm, Jeff, Matt & Mike, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of Marie. Such a beautiful, funny, caring, classy lady that made our lives on Vega a treat. One of our favorite memories of her was the Easter we hid the children's baskets in the oven.. then forgot and turned it on Easter morning. Marie saved the day, conjuring up new baskets and sharing the Easter treats so everyone had something. What a great lady. You could always count on her to assess the situation and pitch in to make it a happy ending. We know you'll miss her and our prayers are with you.Bill and Carla Jones

It is with such sadness that I learned of Marie's passing. We have all been Islanders forever, and enjoyed seeing all our children grow up into wonderful adults. Marie, along with many of the women at her service, were the among the original "Soccer Moms" long before the name was coined. Our family sends our heartfelt sympathy to you, Norm, and your three boys. May you find comfort in the many beautiful memories Marie left with you.
