Marie Davis, born Marie Howard entered this world on April 12, 1937 in Roberta, GA to the delight of her loving parents: Felton and Bessie Mae Howard. She spent her childhood enjoying the company of and playing with her ten sisters and four brothers. She completed her education in the Crawford County Public Schools. As a person with great compassion and care for others, she worked in the field of health services which afforded her the opportunity to use her talents. She spent many years working with the elderly at a nursing home in Warner Robins. Later she worked with young children at a daycare center also in Warner Robins. She was so beloved by her young charges at the daycare, that they often cried upon leaving her care. Mrs. Davis was a taskmaster and straight shooter, often using these attributes to give great advice to her children, grandchildren and other beloved friends and family. In support of her children, she would host their children during summer vacations. Later in her life, she was fortunate enough to have several great grandchildren, with which she spent much time. She dedicated her life to Jehovah God on September 12, 1996, in which she served faithfully until her transition. She truly enjoyed going out in Field Services spreading the Good news about Jehovah God. When she became ill, she was out in Field Services doing what she loved. Throughout her life, Mrs. Davis was a very proud woman, taking great pride in her appearance. She would never be caught without her hair done, smelling good, and wearing her many beautiful bracelets. Marie Davis dressed with great care everyday, even if she only sat in her living room and never missed her weekly hair appointment. Her wit was enjoyed by all as well. She also enjoyed cooking and there were many who enjoyed indulging in her wonderful dishes. Mrs. Davis transitioned from this world Tuesday, November 17, 2015 while in residence at the Summer Hill Senior Living in Perry, GA. Her warm heart and giving nature will forever be cherished by her children Carl Bentley (Saunteel) of Detroit, MI; Veda Lyons (Donnie) of Ft. Valley, GA; Sandy McKinzy of Woodbridge, VA; Sherri Sullivan of Warner Robins, GA; Jean Ford (Alton) of Butler, GA (stepdaughter); a son (Timothy Hamilton) who preceded her in death; four step children; Grandchildren Brandi Hudson (Charles); Brandon Davis; Sherwin Lyons; Autumn Gordon (Robert); Rod Ford; Andrea Lowe (Darius); Anthony Cappas, Jr.. Her great grandchildren Jada Gordon, Haily Gordon, Kennedy Lowe, Mariyah Davis and Lalia Ford. She is survived by seven sisters Ezell Felts, Ardele Howard, Willie Mae Wonum; Bessie Jean Battle (Willie); Louise Bakon (Phillip), all of Roberta, GA; Thelma Woods of Philadelphia, PA. Three of her sisters Mattie Miller, Almenia Colbert and Daisy Knight preceded her in death. She is also survived by her brother, Calvin Howard (Mae) of Atlanta, GA.
