Marie Highfiel

Charles Marie Highfiel, 90, of Weber City, entered into rest (Saturday December 19th,2015) at Indian Path Medical Center. Marie was born November 24, 1925 at Clinchport, Va. She was a graduate of Rye Cove High School, Berea College and earned a Master's degree in English from the University of Kentucky. Marie retired from Rye Cove High School in 1984 having taught school for 39 years. She was an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball. Marie was a member of the Scott County Teacher's Association, Holston View United Methodist Women and a faithful, dedicated Sunday School teacher at Holston View U.M.C. for several years. She was predeceased in death by her mother, Pearl Stone Highfiel. Survivors include several cousins, friends and caregivers including a special friend and neighbor, Judy Carver. Friends may pay their respects from 12 until 1pm Wednesday (December 23rd, 2015) at Holston View United Methodist Church. A celebration of her life will follow with Pastor Wayne Hedrick and Pastor Andy Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles " Mib" Stone, Rex Watts, Michael Carver, Dale Byrd, Charles Hobbs, Don and Ron Carter. Honorary pallbearers are R.B. Lane, Otis Rhoton, Blaine Carver, Wally Ford, Deryl Ford, Jim Hobbs and David Hill Sr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holston View United Methodist Church
