"Belchertown – Marie Y. (Blais) Hubert, 104, of Chauncey Walker St., died October 12, 2006 at Mary Lane Hospital. Born on October 12, 1902 in Laconia, NH, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Amanda Blais and has lived in Belchertown for many years. Marie ‘s greatest pride was to have served God in the 3rd Order Dominican Laity and was a former Prioress. She volunteered her skills of crocheting and knitting to donate her work to church craft fairs. She was a devoted communicant of St. Francis Church. Marie was predeceased by her husband William L. Hubert in 1995 and is survived by a daughter Sister Jeanne T. Hubert with whom she lived. She also leaves two brothers Leon of Westfield, and David of Hampden, along with two sisters Lillian Tousignant of Hampden and Cecile St. Germain of Springfield. The calling hour will be Monday, October 16 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Francis Church at 11:00am. Burial will follow in South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please have a Mass said in her memory."
