Marie R Tintera, 97, passed away unexpectedly December 22, 2019 at her home in Largo, Fl. Marie was born July 8, 1922 in New York City, the daughter of William J. and Thomasina (Madden) McCahill and grew up in Beechurst, Long Island, New York. She graduated from St Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in New York City, and was always proud of her RN. While attending St Vincent's she met Paul M. Tintera, the brother of two classmates. They were married September 3, 1945 at St Lukes's Church, NYC, the beginning of 58 years of marriage. Marie lived in Yonkers NY, St Charles, MO and Lake Osage, MO before moving to Madeira Beach, FL and later to Largo, FL. She loved God and His mother Mary, her family, the beach and a "happy mailbox." She also loved family gatherings good food, and had a warm contagious laugh. She was preceeded in death by her husband, her daughter Gwen Roundy, her parents, and her siblings John G McCahill, Virginia A Masset, and William J McCahill Jr. She was the cherished mother of daughter Deborah M. (Harold K) McCampbell, New Hampton, MO, and son William J (Ann) Tintera, Gunnison CO. Marie will also be greatly missed by six grandchildren: Kevin K McCampbell, Maryville, MO, Amy K (Hector) Fernandez, Clearwater, FL, Jeffrey P (Elizabeth) McCampbell, Media, PA, Katharine (CJ) Wolfe Baltimore, MD, Elisabeth Roundy (Nicole) O'Connor, Long Valley, NJ, and Charles B Tintera, Portland, OR. Marie was also proud of and survived by 9 great grandchildren whom she loved watching grow up: Alexander, Ronin and Isabella Fernandez, Peter, Marin, and Adam McCampbell, and Gwendolyn, Paul, and Cassandra Wolfe, and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Sunday December 29 at David C Gross Funeral Home, in Clearwater, FL. A funeral Mass at St Catherine's of Siena Church in Clearwater on Monday, December 30 at 10 am followed by burial at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in St Petersburg, FL. Memorials may be made to the St Vincent DePaul Society or the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.
