Marifaith N. Barr

Marifaith Neville Barr, 74, passed away on July 22, 2023 in Lexington. Marifaith was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on April 12, 1949 to the late Margaret and Richard Neville. She had a lifelong love of teaching, being a teacher of all subjects. She taught in Owensboro, Woodford, Jefferson, and Franklin County. She loved not only teaching and mentoring her students, but working and spending time with her fellow teachers, going on to be an instructional coach with Fayette County Schools later in her career. She is survived by her daughters, Amber Barr and Margaret Barr; her granddaughter, Victoria Barr; ex-husband, William G. Barr III; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fay and Kirk Kinley, Susann and Gerry Hamilton, Evelyn and Stan Kramer, Paul Barr, Jake and Diane Barr, and Tom Goff; and many loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James R. Neville; aunt, Ruth M. Holcomb; mother-in-law, Ida M. Goff; and brother-in-law, James Goff. A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held for Marifaith on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 3pm-6pm at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville, KY. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mrs. Marifaith Barr to Chapter S, P.E.O. mailed to: 200 Grandview Trail, Wilmore, KY 40390. Please note on check, "Local Scholarships."
