Marilyn Campbell
February 3rd, 1939 - April 22nd, 2015
MARILYN KAYE CAMPBELL Marilyn Kaye Campbell was born to Eric and Marie Claassen of Newton, Kansas, on February 3, 1939. She was the older of two sisters. She passed away, at home, in Chico, CA, on April 22, 2015. She was 76. Marilyn moved to Chico, CA, in 1967. After being a stay at home mother and wife for a few years, she went to work for Butte County Schools as a Librarian for 13 years. In 1988, with her husband Al, she moved to La Quinta CA, and began working for the Indio High School district as a Librarian. There she discovered her passion as a computer mentor and taught her At-Risk students to appreciate the Library, while teaching them much needed skills on PC's. Marilyn had a strong influence on many young minds while in this position. In the Summer of 2002, after retiring from her job as Librarian, Marilyn and Al moved back to the Chico area to begin living their new passion of raising Nigerian Dwarf goats, and adopting older BLM donkeys. Marilyn and Al reared and raised many goats and increased the goat population of these goats dramatically. She really loved this venture and was disappointed when she realized it was becoming too much for her and Al to manage. In March of 2014, William Albert Campbell passed away, and Marilyn spent the time since, preparing the farm for sale and getting ready for the next phase of her life. Unfortunately she was just a week short of moving into an assisted living facility in Carson City, NV, just miles from where her daughter Maddie lives, in North Lake Tahoe. Marilyn had a great passion for books, and sailing with her husband. She was very creative with various sewing, knitting, and stitchery projects. Besides goats and donkeys, Marilyn loved cats. Her two cats, Moga and Missy, also survive her death. Marilyn's loving husband of 32 years William Albert Campbell " Al ", preceded her in death. She was survived by her only child, daughter, Madeline Kaye Fullerton, son-in-law James, her sister Jolene Harris, husband Larry, and Al's children, Cindy, Debra, and, Bruce. Private family ceremonies will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to The Chico Cat Coalition, in her name, in care of Brusie Funeral Home.
