Marilyn L. Evans, 88, of Melbourne passed away peacefully on February 18, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA., on July 13, 1931 to Harry and Hilda Leppold. She was an amazing homemaker with a very caring heart. Marilyn was devoted to her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grand child. Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 60 years, retired Navy Captain Dick Evans and her sister Dorothy Leppold. Marilyn leaves behind her sister Bonnie (Jim) of Little Rock AR., children Barbara (Bob) of Las Vegas, NV, Richard (Sheila) of Washington D. C., Christine (Rick) of State College PA, and Gretchen (Blair) of Melbourne; grandchildren Amy, Carrie, Kit, John, James and Marilyn; and great-granddaughter, Claire. Marilyn will be missed and remembered dearly by numerous other family members and friends. Marilyn was an avid sports fan who loved cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and most of all her beloved Penn State Nittany Lions football team. Marilyn loved to socialize and had a lovely playful nature enjoyed by all. She took great pride in her charity efforts, but most of all her family. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Ministries Stadium Parkway, Viera Fl.
