OXMAN, Marilyn Pauline (Kline), affectionately known as “Cookie” to her long‐time friends, died on April 21, 2021 after a period of declining health. Marilyn was born on December 21, 1928 in Ipswich, Massachusetts to Samuel and Ida (Luff) Kline. She was a devoted wife to the late Robert (Bob) Oxman with whom she shared 53 years of marriage, and loving mother to Janet Oxman (Rick Simon) of Needham, Massachusetts and Barbara Oxman Kalinowski (Joe Kalinowski) of Greenville, North Carolina. Family meant everything to Marilyn, and she was especially proud of her four grandchildren, Alissa Kalinowski, Jessica Simon, Amy Kalinowski and David Simon. Marilyn graduated from Bridgewater State College and spent years teaching elementary school before taking time off to raise her daughters in Malden, Massachusetts. Later in life she went back to college to get certified in special education. In 1979, Marilyn and Bob relocated to Safety Harbor, Florida when Bob accepted a new job as a Registered Pharmacist. Florida then became their adopted home. Marilyn was known for her outgoing personality and ability to have a conversation with anyone she met. She easily made friends in Florida, while continuing to nurture friendships that she had since childhood. She was well‐known for keeping in touch with friends and relatives whether through lengthy phone conversations or by sending greeting cards with her inspirational personal messages. Once in Florida, Marilyn kept busy working for many years at Dillard’s in the Countryside Mall as well as volunteering at Mease Countryside Hospital. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Marilyn leaves behind her dear brother and sister‐in‐law Norman and Betty Kline, her sister‐in‐law and brother‐in‐law Dotty and Murray Novak, her cousin Daryl Mann, and their families. She was predeceased by her brother‐in‐law and sister‐in‐law Martin and Elaine Oxman. Burial will be on Monday, 4/26/21, at 11:00 am at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater. Donations can be made in Marilyn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://www.alz.org. The care of Mrs. Oxman and her family has been entrusted to David C. Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg.
