Marilyn Spraker
May 25th, 1948 - February 27th, 2012
Marilyn Spraker, age 63 of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born in Flushing, NY the daughter of Anna O'Brien Bidanset and the late Robert Bidanset. She was employed for many years as a deli specialist for various Price Chopper Supermarkets. On May 30, 2009, Marilyn married her longtime companion John Spraker. They have shared many years together. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, cooking and decorating, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her 5 grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her husband, John Spraker of Mayfield, her mother, Anna Bidanset of Broadalbin, two sons: Joseph Ringer Traci Bartow of Mayfield, Jason Spraker Michelle of Broadalbin, a daughter Jami Spraker Chris Russo of Johnstown, five grandchildren: Kayla, Ryan, Joseph, Gabrille, Alex as well as a brother, Bill Bidanset and six sisters: Roberta Certonia, Jacqueline Verrego, Ann Frasier, Diane Strauss, Bernadette Fiorillo and Fran Mullin. In addition to her father, Marilyn was preceded in death by a sister, Loraine Pelosi. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2012 at the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday March 3, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 7 North Street, Broadalbin with the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia officiating. Interment will take place at Broadalbin Union Rural Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Marilyn to the: James Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078.
