Marina Elsie Percival, 81, was called to heaven Saturday, May 14, 2016. She was born in Old England, Demerara River, Guyana, South America on October 3, 1934 to Selena Nebit and Charles DeClou. She was a sister to Eno, Ernest, Peter, Sissel, Ines and Joyce all of Commack, Demerara River, Guyana. In her early childhood she enjoyed swimming in the Demerara River and climbing trees. She meet and married Hector Herbert Percival on May 15, 1956. Of this union there are three children Gail Griffith of Miami; Deber Harris of Port Charlotte and Hebert Percival of Port Charlotte. Marina loved cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading. She also loved telling stories and jokes, traveling, taking care of her home and family. Her favorite programs were CSI, NCIS, Law and Order and Murder She Wrote. Marina moved to America in 1992, lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York and in New Jersey. She relocated to Florida in 2012 to live with her children. She spent her last months with her daughter Deber and her family. She is survived by her husband Hector Percival, her children Gail, Deber and Herbert, her son-in-law Derick, her daughter-in-law Sandra, 15 grand children and 25 great-grand children, many relatives and friends. After a short illness, Marina departed this life May 14, 2016 at her daughter Deber home surrounded by her family and friends. The funeral service will be held at 10:30am Friday, May 20 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd. Punta Gorda, Fl. Visitation will be in the sanctuary from 10:00-10:30 am prior to service. Pay respects at www.charlottememorial.com.
