Marion C. Mandeville, 92, of Gloversville went to be with her personal Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown. Born on June 29, 1921 in Elmira, Marion was the daughter of the late David William Campbell, Sr. and the late Marion D. Days. Early in life while residing in New Jersey she was employed by Western Electric. Most recently, Marion, worked for the former Coleco Industires, starting in 1968 and retiring in 1986. She was a former member of the Frederick Douglass AME Zion Church in Elmira and currently a member of the People's AME Zion Church in Gloversville, where she was a Deaconess and former president of the Women's Home & Overseas Missionary Society and formerly a member of the Contingent Club. Mrs. Mandeville was a lifetime member of the Gloversville Fifty-Five Senior Citizens Club. She was married to Eugene Mandeville who predeceased her. Besides her parents and husband, Marion was predeceased by her brothers: William Campbell and David W. Campbell, Jr. Mrs. Mandeville is survived by two daughters: Maryann M. Walker of Johnstown and Catherine Eaton of Gloversville; six grandchildren: Robert L. Allen Jr. of Mattydale, Jamie M. Heather Allen of Johnstown, Matthew A. Sue-Ann Walker of Fort Sill, OK, Teresa Javier Evans of Dix Hills Charles Campbell of Gloversville and Nakesha Campbell of Ft Johnson; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend Betty Burkart. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 4-7PM at the Johnstown Reformed Church, 351 North Perry Street, Johnstown, where a funeral service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, October 5, 2013 with the Rev. Michael Bell, eulogist and the Rev. Robert E. Linder, officiating. Burial will follow at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
