On October 3rd, 2019, Marion P. “Smokey” Stover, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, brother and uncle passed away at age 82. Smokey was born October 1st, 1937 in Narrows, VA. He married the love of his life, Heidelinde Morgenroth on May 12th, 1959 in Augsburg, Germany. Together they raised 4 children, 2 daughters, Angelina Dietrich, Germany and Nicolette Nuessen, Kansas, 2 sons, Marion Stover Jr, Germany and Anthony Stover, Germany. He also had 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren of Kansas and Germany, one sister Lancette Brehm, Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws. He served 21 years in the US Army, where he did 2 tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the military he worked 17 years for the Army MWR. Smokey loved spending time with his family! He also liked watching football and playing mini golf. He was preceded in death by his father, William Stover, his mother Lilian Wheeler, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
