Marion William Talley

MARION WILLIAM TALLEY, 85, of Englewood passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Consulate Health Care of Port Charlotte. Born on June 17, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland he had been a resident of Charlotte County for thirty-four years coming from Violetville, MD. Mr. Talley served on the L.S.T. 506 in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from the U.S. Postal service after 31 years. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 10178; a member of American Legion Post #113 the P.B.O.Elks Lodge in 2710 in Rotonda West. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of twenty-seven years: Marie Talley of Englewood, FL; sister-in-law: Jeanne Talley of Rehobeth Beach, DE, nieces and nephews: Don and Kathleen Meyer of Shady Valley, TN, Eileen Talley of Rehobeth Beach, DE; Patty Thompson of Jacksonville, FL; Jay Geist of WA; Daniel Talley of Destin, FL; Susan Schylaske of Mt. Wolf, PA, Tim and Jeanne Ladson of St. Marys' County, MD; Nancy Talley of Gunnison, CO. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 2 Pm until 4 Pm and 6 Pm until 8 Pm with a V.F.W./American Legion service at 7 Pm at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 South McCall Road. Funeral service will be on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev. James Kress, Sr. Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at 2 Pm at the Sarasota National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or Redeemer Lutheran Church, 6465 Mayport Street, Englewood, FL 34224 in memory of Mr. Talley.
