It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marivic Hantid, on Sunday, August 25th, 2024. She gave everything she had to her family and was truly our heart. She will be missed and remembered and spoken of with love for as long as we live.

Marivic loved life and found joy in every day. She particularly loved movies (especially in the theater) and travel near and far, and she was always excited for any adventure that took her to the great outdoors. In her younger days, she enjoyed sailing and hiking and exploring. Visits to Canada, Crater Lake, and Mount St. Helens were favorite memories. There was always something to celebrate, and spending time with family was a great comfort and source of happiness for her. Her Catholic faith was with her throughout her life, and it gave her strength and solace in difficult times. We will carry her joyful, adventurous, and loving spirit with us forever.      

She was born in Manila, Philippines, in 1960. The family moved to Guam, and then ultimately to Oregon. Marivic was predeceased by her mother, Presentacion, and her father, Salv, as well as her sisters, Marlin and Alice. She is survived by her sister, Jean, and her brother, Noel, her daughter, Robin, and her son, Michael.

The immediate family gathered on August 30 for a private viewing, to share memories and say farewell to her physical presence. We will have an interment ceremony at the graveside on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 11am. Friends and family are encouraged to join us at the interment, which will take place at The Little Chapel of the Chimes, 11667 SE Stevens Rd., Happy Valley, OR 97086. Flowers would be greatly appreciated for the Thursday, Sept. 5, gathering. They can be brought or sent to the address above. Please address to Marivic Hantid and family. No lilies please, due to allergies.
