Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Mark is survived by his wife of 41 years, Becky Harvey of New Plymouth, his children, Murielle Harvey of Boise, Idaho, Matthew Harvey and his wife, Nichole of Boise, Idaho, Megan Kramer and her husband, Cody of New Plymouth; his grandchildren, Koehn and Kailee Kramer and another granddaughter expected to arrive in December and grand baby Harvey expected to arrive in the spring; sister, Gretchen Harvey of Salem, Oregon, brother, Jonathan and his wife, Denise of Nevada City, California; nieces, Heather Armstrong of Ashland, Oregon, Holly Armstrong of Terrace, Washington; nephews, Glenn Harvey and his wife, Lindsey of Roseville, California, Steven Harvey and his wife, Christa, and 4 great-nieces, of Kuna, Idaho and Logan Harvey of Grass Valley, California; and last but certainly not least, Graycen, his loyal, affectionate Golden Retriever. Mark also had the honor and privilege of being a father figure to Alex Madrid and welcomed Alex and his family into his life as if they were his very own. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and June Harvey and his brother, Paul B. Harvey, Jr. Mark was born on August 1, 1956 in Orange, California. He graduated from Villa Park High School, Villa Park, California in 1974. In the fall of that year, Mark attended Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon majoring in Science and Aviation and obtained his pilot's license. He became a retail manager and moved to Denver, Colorado in 1977. The company transferred him to Grand Island, Nebraska in 1978 where he met the love of his life in 1979. Mark married Becky Browne on July 18, 1980 and the young couple ventured to Dodge City, Kansas to open a new store for The Buckle, then known as The Brass Buckle. Mark returned to his roots with his little family and they moved to Orange, California in 1981 to work with his father Paul and brother Jonathan for an insurance business owned by his father and two other partners. He also returned to college to major in Business Administration at Santiago Community College. Mark continued that pursuit until the company was sold and his parents retired to McCall, Idaho. Thereafter, Mark's career followed many paths. He was a quick study and never hesitant to take on new challenges. While raising a family and continuing his education and technical certifications, Mark was promoted to Project Manager for The Future Now in Irvine, California. He supervised facilities and employees across the country which required constant travel and weeks away from home. In July 1996, fully packing the largest U Haul available, the family made a long distance move to New Plymouth, Idaho to be near his aging father and provide care and support. Little did they know they were ahead of the trend to escape Southern California for a better quality of life in southwest Idaho. At the time of his passing Mark was the Payette County Assessor and a Commissioner for the New Plymouth Planning and Zoning Commission. He loved beautiful Payette County, his community of New Plymouth and his church family at the First Baptist Church in New Plymouth. He felt honored to serve the county as a public servant to carry on his grandfather, Fred Harvey's, and his father, Paul Harvey's legacy. Mark was also a Board Member for the Idaho Association of Counties. Mark always enjoyed serving the Lord in various roles and served in various leadership capacities in Calvary Church of Santa Ana, California, Orange-Villa Bible Church of Orange, California, Billy Graham Crusades, Harvest Crusades, Family Life Homebuilders Ministry, Promise Keepers Men's Ministry, Board Chairman for Cathedral Pines Baptist Camp, Deacon Board for First Baptist Church of New Plymouth, taught Sunday School for all ages from high school to the Senior Citizen's class. Mark loved the Sawtooth Mountains and especially loved the years he served at Cathedral Pines Baptist Camp both as Chairman and as a Director for high school camp. Mark's singing role in the Praise Team at First Baptist Church New Plymouth will be missed. He had the privilege of singing praises next to his daughters, Murielle and most recently with Megan Joy. Every member of the praise team had a personal connection with Mark, and he loved each one with his whole heart. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the medical staff members at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center - Boise, 4th Floor South, Oncology and 3rd Floor ICU for their skillful, compassionate care for Mark.
