Mark Andrew Mathay

Mark Andrew Mathay, of Shoreline, passed away on March 5th, 2018 He was born in Seattle on April 15th. The family moved to California in his teens and then back to Seattle where he graduated from Nathan Hale High School. He worked for Keller Supply for 30+ years. Mark enjoyed his job and fellow co-workers and customers. Mark was a kind soul who loved to help others. There was nothing he wouldn't do to make his wife smile. He had a knack for fixing things and loved all things mechanical. Taking things apart, figuring out how it worked and putting it back together gave him great pleasure. He loved going on camping trips with family and friends. He was also an avid science fiction/fantasy reader. Mark was also hooked on Starbucks coffee and listening to music. Mark is survived by Carol, his wife of 34 years and their dog Bella. He is also survived by his sister Deborah (Creighton) and his sister in law Vicki (Geoffrey), also his nieces Sophia, Claire and Emily and his nephew Ryan. Mark is preceded in death by father Andrew Mathay, mother Joan Etchey Mathay and his brother Geoffrey. A Celebration of life Mark’s life will be held 10 am April, 14th at Shoreline Covenant Church. Per Mark’s wishes this will be a casual upbeat service. No suits or ties. Nothing fancy. He hated dressing up.
